Bali Medical Hub is edited under the direction of Dr. Anita
Wijaya, MD, MPH.
Dr. Wijaya earned her medical degree (MD) at Universitas
Udayana in Denpasar — Bali’s leading medical school — and holds
a Master of Public Health (MPH). Over fourteen
years, she has worked at the interface of Bali’s hospital
system and its expat-facing clinics, coordinating care for international
patients: helping foreigners navigate admissions, translating between
the local and international standards of care, and advising on when a
clinic suffices and when a case needs a referral hospital or
evacuation.
That vantage point — inside the system, but oriented to the foreign
patient’s confusion — is exactly what a directory like this needs. Dr.
Wijaya reviews the site’s listings, comparisons, cost guidance and
safety content against primary sources, and sets the editorial standards

Why We Built a
Directory, Not Another Clinic Site
Bali does not lack hospitals or clinics — it lacks a neutral place to
compare them. When we looked at what a confused, unwell
foreigner actually finds online, it was hospital homepages selling
themselves, forum threads full of one-off anecdotes, and search pages
cluttered with paid placements. None of that answers the four questions
that matter under stress: which provider, where it is,
how good it is, and how much it costs. A directory
answers all four in a structured, comparable way — and a directory has
no reason to flatter any single hospital, because its value comes from
being complete and neutral, not from any one listing. That is the gap
Bali Medical Hub fills, and it’s why we resist the temptation to become
“just another clinic site.” Our job is the map, not the destination.

and Denpasar. What we don’t claim is omniscience: hours change, services
are added and dropped, prices move, and accreditation is re-surveyed. So
we date our comparisons, cite primary sources, and consistently tell you
to confirm the details that matter directly with the provider before you
rely on them. We’d rather send you to verify than pretend a static page
is a live feed. This candour is part of the trust contract —
over-claiming is how directories lose credibility, and credibility is
the only asset we have.
