How JCI and KARS differ, what each audits, what neither covers, and how to confirm a facility’s current status rather than take a wall certificate at face value.

About
We are not clinicians and we do not treat anyone. What we know is Bali’s medical landscape — who is accredited, who actually performs which procedure, what it costs, and where the gaps are.
Mapping and verifying. Which Bali facilities hold current accreditation and at what grade, which specialties are genuinely available on the island versus referred to Jakarta or Singapore, what international patients are actually charged, and which hospitals settle with which insurers.
Clinical expertise belongs to the doctors we list. Ours is knowing which of them fits your situation.
Four areas we can answer on without guessing.

How JCI and KARS differ, what each audits, what neither covers, and how to confirm a facility’s current status rather than take a wall certificate at face value.
Accreditation explained — Accreditation and licensing
Which specialties cluster in Sanur, why Denpasar holds the critical-care capability, and why Ubud is farther from an ICU than the map suggests once traffic is counted.
Clinics by area — The geography of care
International-patient rates rather than local ones, what a surgical quote typically excludes, and how far the same procedure moves between the three facility tiers.
The cost guide — Real pricing
Which hospitals bill international insurers directly, which expect you to pay and claim, and where pre-authorisation is the difference between a claim that works and one that does not.
Insurance and cashless billing — Insurance behaviourExpertise that is not maintained is just an old opinion.
Accreditation checked against the issuing register, prices against published tariffs, clinicians against registration records — and we note when we checked.
Every option has a downside. We would rather say a hospital is cheaper but harder in English than publish a page of strengths.
Coverage is thinnest in the north and east, and for sub-specialties Bali refers onward. The relevant pages say so instead of implying completeness.
From readers and from facilities on the same terms. We change the page and note that it changed.
Editorial standards — Corrections publishedNo, and we are careful not to act like it. We are an editorial desk that maps and verifies the medical landscape in Bali. Clinical judgement belongs to the clinicians we list.
A free directory and a free concierge that shortlists facilities for your case. We do not provide medical care, diagnose, or take bookings on behalf of any facility.
Primary sources with recorded dates, re-checks on a cycle and after any change, and published corrections. Where something cannot be verified, the page says so.
It is written for them. The whole directory assumes a reader who is not Indonesian, does not speak the language, and needs to know what things cost in international-patient terms.
No. No listing, position or badge is for sale, and we take no commission on treatment. That constraint is what makes the comparison worth anything.
Tell us your case and we will apply all of the above to it — free, and with nothing to sign.
